Arbejdet skrider planmæssigt fremad

Work on the Odsherredsbanen line has completed its first week, and everything is progressing according to plan, says project manager for the renovation, Niels Mathisen.

Niels works daily in Lokaltog's Infrastructure Department, and in recent months, Niels, together with TSA (Technical System Manager) track, security and power and Track Master Mikael Sørensen, have planned and prepared the project so that it can run as smoothly as possible for our customers.

The section from Holbæk to Nykøbing Sjælland will have around 7,000 sleepers replaced, while a bridge will also be renovated. It is a major project that will also mean full or partial closure of the track for the next five weeks.

"We have made a good start with the renovation, where Nykøbing Sjælland station has already been overhauled. The rails have been removed, and we are well underway with laying the new sleepers. In connection with the work, it has been necessary to close the crossing at Havnegade, but we are doing everything we can to lift the closure as quickly as possible, so that traffic can flow freely in Nykøbing Sjælland again," says Niels Mathisen.

According to the plan, the work in Nykøbing Sjælland should be completed on May 24, while the sleeper replacement will continue southward towards the expected reopening of the Odsherredsbanen in mid-June.
